Feedback emulation into a variety of leading signal formats

Used In:

  • Speed control of components like cameras and laser sources
  • Providing sensor feedback to external components
  • Control of additional stepper drives

Elmo drives can emulate any feedback (socket) to the following signal formats:

  • A/B Quadrature. There are two output waves (A and B), generated 90 degrees out of phase from each other. These signals are decoded to produce a count up or count down.
  • Pulse/Direction. Includes two signals:
    • First wave signal (A) routed to PORT C includes the pulse wave. Each pulse indicates a single count.
    • Second wave signal (B) indicates the direction of pulses in the first signal (A); low for negative direction and high for positive direction.
  • Up/Down. Includes two waves:
    • First wave signal (A) routed to PORT C includes pulses in the clockwise direction, each pulse representing a count up.
    • Second wave signal (B) includes pulses in the counter-clockwise direction, each pulse represent a count down.
  • Hall Signal Emulation. Includes three waves:
    • PortC-A signal is Hall-A signal
    • PortC-B signal is Hall-B signal
    • PortC-I signal is Hall-C signal

For a Daisy Chain, when the emulated socket is Quadrature, an option is provided to connect the Quadrature input port directly to Port C, without using emulation.
